Mr. Jones and Me!

So I have definitely been a slacker at Blogging! With getting (an additional) job- a week later becoming engaged and planning a wedding in 8 weeks I admit that blogging just wasn't a huge priority! Even now 1 1/2 months after being married I feel totally behind! So I have decided a new blog is in order! It will take awhile to officially catch up and get things organized but feel free to check it out at http://lennyandkenzi.blogspot.com (creative name I know:o)

Peace Out!!!

Moab Madness

So we went to moab about a month ago- shortly after I sorted through the pictures and uploaded them - I've attempted to add cute little explanations a bunch of times and haven't thought of anything good so here are the pictures! Moab was packed so we ended up sleeping by Ken's Lake on the airport strip- but hey- the ground was flat for our tents! The next morning it started pouring and the guys rode through a thorn patch so all 10 of their tires went flat! We opted to buy our breakfast instead of making it in the rain storm and by afternoon it dried out for some hikes! (though we decided against our original hike where we would cross 7 water areas)

Hiking around Devil's Garden

The Whole Gang

Tosh and Lisa practicing their yoga moves...

you know- totally normal!!

Lisa and I spotting the people climbing to the top

While I opted to stay and take pictures-

Lenny decided to lean over the edge of the arch!

After I saw a bunch of little kids go to the top

I decided it couldn't be that bad-

so see the 2 dots on top of the arch? The 2nd one is me!

Thanks for an awesome trip everyone!!

Spring...isn't it about time?

Now don't get me wrong... this has been an awesome winter (of which I am late on my posting thus...) I love the snow! It makes everything clean and peaceful outside!
I love getting all bundled up and going out in the cold. I got snow shoes for Christmas which was great fun! The best part running and sliding down a steep hill in 5 feet of snow! A few weeks ago I tried going on a hike without them and ended up crawling up the mountain...ya- snow shoes are great!
This picture doesn't do justice...
we were on a huge fallen tree 10 feet in the air ...

I love big events and people united towards a common goal... We went to mogul event of the national free skiing competition in Deer Valley- it was fun! I recommend it- I admit I enjoyed the atmosphere and energy of the setting the most, but it was also sweet watching the skiers!
But now I'm ready for Summer! That is one thing I love about Utah...you get to experience each season...and once you start getting sick of one season- the other one comes along!

Lenny and I decided to go for a walk in North Salt Lake above the huge rock quarry. If you keep going on the trail it leads to ensign peak but we decided to hike up the hills and watch the sunset...
(I don't know why I take sunset pictures-they never do it justice)
Yahoo for Summer! I'm excited for spending time outside in the warmth...hiking, camping and just enjoying the sun....
Bring it on!!

Rexburg Road Trip

Lenny and I decided to go to Rexburg for a friends wedding reception a few weeks ago, it was a great excuse for a road trip! I hadn't been up to Rexburg since I graduated a year and a half ago, it was crazy to see the changes and of course how somethings just don't change!
Craigo's- debatably the thing I miss most about Rexburg- it was fun to go back, and of course the pizza was good as well, but it just wasn't the same, I guess some food tastes better in memories!
The new auditorium center is HUGE!!! So cool looking! The commons area is very open and light with all the windows. The ceiling has huge metal circles that reflect off the natural light- it was way cool!
We tried to get into the auditorium but all the doors were locked- I've heard it is designed just like the conference center. Between the 3 levels it seats over 15,000- DANG! I'm sad I missed it!
On the other side of the building they have a ginormous gym with 16 basketball courts- all of which were in use on this Saturday! There is also a ring for jogging on the 2nd floor.Call me a nerd but I had to get a picture by the Ricks building where I lived most of my life! Each semester I had at least 2 classes in this building- luckily its the newest and by far the best! The snow there was perfect for snow sculpting- not like this stinkin powder we keep getting. It is hilarious driving around Rexburg and seeing all of the snow men and snow sculptures everywhere- welcome to a college town in the middle of no where! Hahaha- love it!
The temple was beautiful as ever, it looked especially cool with the fog engulfing it!
We stopped by Lava Hot Springs on our way home... as you can tell Lenny was especially excited :o)

Snow Shoeing!

Lenny and I went snowshoeing up Big Cottonwood canyon the Monday after Christmas...it was great fun! We dragged sleds up half of it intending to sled down but stashed them midway up the mountain.

Lenny brought his handy little shovel and we built a little shelter from the wind to eat our lunch in-it had a great view!!

All in all I highly recommend snowshoeing! The snow is gorgeous and once you get moving its really not that cold! Do it!!
